miracles

my apologies for having gone missing in action this week. this past sunday my dog sandy loo was attacked by a pitbull and needless to say the experience was overwhelming traumatic. i've taken this week off life to focus on her healing as well as my own (my right hand was also chewed trying to save her). her chances for survival weren't in the best of odds but despite it all, she's alive and doing remarkably well.
at the vet this morning, i was sat down and told what a miracle sandy really is. never in the vet's life has she seen any dog survive and recover as well as her.
"you have no idea how lucky you are."
"i have every idea. i truly am blessed."

it's amazing how miracles can appear right in front of your eyes and even in your darkest moments there will always be a hint of light. it's that light that we must forever follow, chase, run towards, and fight for.

 * a special thank you to my friends near and far who have given me their love and support. and to those that experienced this with me, drove and stayed with me in the e.r. and saw me at my worst - you are forever in my humblest heart. and to my beautiful sister tania - i adore you. *

  13. I can only imagine how you must've been feeling. I have a Yorkie who I absolutely adore and I can't bear the thought of something like this happening to him! Sandy truly is a miracle and I'm sure part of her healing has been the love you have given her. She is blessed to have you as an owner!

I'm sure she will have a healthy and happy Christmas! Sending my love.
