rebel redefined

mixing in the casual with something a bit more fancy, is what life is all about. i've been living in this rebel shirt since i got it, but for this post i wanted to do something a bit more unconventional and unexpected. as summer is winding down, i'm finding clever ways to mix summer pieces like this crop top with heavier (more autumn/winter like) pieces like these trousers. how have you been tweaking your outfits for the change of seasons?

asymmetrical

when i saw this dress i immediately fell in love with its asymmetrical design and bold color blocking...not to mention the shoes! for looking like a total torture device (i mean, who am i kidding?), they're actually extremely comfortable and manageable. i thought it a fun and friendly ensemble that's perfect for summer.

back to living

the last of my apartment posts takes us back to my living room. i redid this room last summer - going back to the basics, eliminating any clutter, and keeping everything mostly black and grey. this was mostly done by dear friends who intervened in my interior decorating "skills" and definitely brought the room to a modern and chic level.
every time i walk into my apartment now i think to myself: wow, i feel like an adult.
(silly but true)

sanctuary

have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.

i'm so excited to have done these series of pictures of my apartment with the one and only nina duncan. although not originally planned, our saturday afternoon was well spent prancing around my humble abode snapping the moments. to me, my apartment has always been a sanctuary and place of rest and retreat. i hope you all enjoy me sharing this intimate space with you.

stay tuned for the up coming posts which will highlight each room with each outfit.

tbt

it's been a while since i do a tbt post so thought it rather nice to switch things up a bit and do so. we're in the third month of the year, why not highlight my favorite three looks.

which one did you like best?

there's something so delightful about marc jacobs. although high fashion, i still think he makes clothes for the common man/woman (in an uncommon way)...
and call me common!

so ideal

it dawned on me the other day that although i can practically say i live in these pants, i never once have shot in them for the blog. voila! here they are. i found them in the deep trenches of primark when i was in london this summer and have been ever so obsessed with them ever since. paired with another fabulous london brand, my paul's boutique bag has been a savior ever since i got it. these two paired together are so ideal.

back to basics

with the temperature being rather bi-polar in los angeles (one day it rains, the other it's windy, the following it's cold, and then it's 95*), i've decided you can't go wrong when you go back to the basics. there's nothing more simple and timeless than a great white tee and jeans.
