it's happening... it's autumn and it's coming on quick.
there are brief moments in the day where the temperature rises to a comfortable 72* and you see the city back to wearing it's shirts and jeans. one must take advantage of what's left of the warmth.

if there's one thing i've thoroughly enjoyed about living in the city, is that no matter where you go, there's always a kaleidoscopic myriad of outfits. stepping out with cowboy boots was definitely out of my comfort zone but oh so much fun.

one of my favorite parts about my neighborhood is actually a church garden down the block from me which houses the most beautiful flowers and greenery. i happily tend to find myself on weekend mornings grabbing coffee and a book and spending quite a bit of time relaxing there before my day actually starts. any bit of retreat in this big city is always welcomed.

grey

there's nothing better than throwing on your favorite sweater and a pair of tights on a chilly afternoon, wouldn't you agree?
when i saw this grey little number from sheinside i was immediately drawn to how effortlessly chic it was. swap the boots for heels, smack some red lips on, and you can have a night out in the town.

denim + denim

i've been wanting a denim dress for quite a while now so when i popped into top shop and saw this bad boy hanging, i snagged it up immediately with much delight! adding a denim jacket around the waist adds an extra layer and a more modern chromatic look.
needless to say, sandy loo (my pup) makes another cameo on the blog.

u.s.a.

... continuing the palm desert chronicles...

here was a quick little outfit change in the midst of a golf course (thank goodness no spectators were there to witness).

seeing that the olympics are right around the corner, what better time to whip up some u.s.a. gear?

vintage speaks

everytime i go back home to miami i love raiding my mother's closet in search of hidden gems. this skirt is a wonderful example of the treasures i find buried deep within the mystical realm known as my mom's wardrobe.
by mixing vintage pieces with modern ones, i can create a unique look that has meaning.

what i wore: vintage skirt, silence & noise top (via urban outfitters), forever 21 necklace, christian louboutin heels

great expectations

i am one of the biggest book nerds in town. just finishing "great expectations" for the second time (first was in highschool and don't think i appreciated it), i was greatly inspired...

that was a memorable day to me, for it made great changes in me. but, it is the same with any life. imagine one selected day struck out of it, and think how different its course would have been. pause you who read this, and think for a moment of the long chain of iron or gold, of thorns or flowers, that would never have bound you, but for the formation of the first link on one memorable day.
