when it comes to dressing at night in the heat, i always try to get myself out of the "just throw on a dress" mentality. silk pants have really come to the rescue with me providing another option to keep it light and fresh in the evening.

continuing on with my glorious stay in miami last weekend, this little number (ok, actually the entire ensemble) was stolen out of my mom's closet. i always say it's one of the funnest things about going home : raiding her space and seeing what gems she's purchased since my last visit, and then styling it to make it my own. slapping on karla's sunnies and voila we had an outfit for the hot hot heat.

and so the time has come: autumn wear ( i know i know, you're saying "idalia we're in the middle of summer!")
but let's start planning ahead, shall we? trenchcoats, turbans, monochromatic suits, animal print...

nothing like standing on some scolding hot train tracks in the middle of the desert. the conductor did honk at me when i waved the arm motion for him to do so.

i've been to the desert
two weekends ago i packed my bags and hit the desert running.
thanks to the familia bonks, my friend caroline and i were able to enjoy a wonderful weekend in 114* heat.
can i get an amen?
