one of my favorite parts about my neighborhood is actually a church garden down the block from me which houses the most beautiful flowers and greenery. i happily tend to find myself on weekend mornings grabbing coffee and a book and spending quite a bit of time relaxing there before my day actually starts. any bit of retreat in this big city is always welcomed.

this summer i've been quite drawn to shirts with horizontal stripes (you'll be seeing more and more of this). although in the past i've strayed away from them for utter fear that i'll appear wider than i am, i've surpassed that superstition and have embraced the stripes. paired with an olllllld school a&f skirt (this dates back to my college days, people!), it makes such a simple and cute outfit.

last week i was able to join kristina bazan (the hostess with the mostess) in an intimate dinner with jewelry designer (and absolute sweetheart) eddie borgo who's collaborating with target with a brand-spankin' new line of bracelets, earrings, necklaces, pins, belts, wall art, and handbags that are all customizbale with a variety of charms, beads, and studs. on the rooftop terrace overlooking manhattan (can we just take in the view right now?! surreal!), we were given the 411 and were able to create such wonderful jewelry with eddie himself. you'll be sure to be seeing my creations on future posts.
how fun was this?!
