lazy lazy

some weekends are made for flip flops...throwing on a white t-shirt and calling it a day. even in the laziest of days, slapping on a multitude of bracelets (and not to mention my favorite watch), and camo pants makes all the difference.

rebel redefined

mixing in the casual with something a bit more fancy, is what life is all about. i've been living in this rebel shirt since i got it, but for this post i wanted to do something a bit more unconventional and unexpected. as summer is winding down, i'm finding clever ways to mix summer pieces like this crop top with heavier (more autumn/winter like) pieces like these trousers. how have you been tweaking your outfits for the change of seasons?

triangl

seriously cannot express my obsession with triangl swimwear and this specific bikini. when it finally arrived in the mail, i immediately thought - james bond moment! it's sleek material is unlike any other i've ever tried on.
a perfect piece for a perfect day in malibu.

1984 / summer bag

although i'm not one for graphic tees, i fell in love with this 1984 men's shirt from marc jacobs (yes, that was the year i was born. hence my affinity for it.) it was snagged while i was really at the shop to get my new summer bag. if you know me, you know i'm not one to switch purses like some people do underwear. my faithfulness to the same bag can last me throughout an entire season. strange, i know. i'm just not a bag lady. so when i saw this gem, i knew i had to buy it and claim it summer 2014.

on a side note - yes i will eventually take off my faux-kentstocks. the daily mockery of my friends saying that's all i wear is beginning to sink in.

capitol

last last week, i took an absolutely wonderful trip to salt lake city, utah. although the main purpose of my trip was to work, i was able to enjoy the weekend amongst the mountains (yes! i went camping for the first time in my life!) and wildlife.
on my last day there, jen fairchild (photographer and major babe) reached out to take some quick snaps around the city.
here is the first of the series right on the top of a hill overlooking the capitol.

ripped summer

although i'm one that always opts for something more form-fitting and tailored, i've grown quite keen to this outfit. these jeans i've literally had since i was 17 years old and are what i refer to as my "ol' faithful."
mixing in some fun kicks completes an otherwise simple outfit.

mother's day

i was beyond thrilled to have my mother fly in from miami to celebrate mother's day with my sister and myself yesterday. there's really nothing better than spending a gloriously sunny afternoon with the people that truly matter most in life - my family. hope you all enjoyed yours too.

lounge

a constant scratch-in-head moment for me is how to make lounge wear look remotely chic. a simple and quick way answer is by making the ever-so-easy turban: grab any scarf (or clothing material for that matter), and wrap it around your head. it's literally that easy. throw on a wrap/sweater and you're good to go. and because i'm not one to wear any sort of heel/platform with a bikini, i always resort to my ever faithful havaianas.
