transition

it's become somewhat surreal that the second i feel the sunshine and the weather is warmer than 30*f i jump for joy and enthusiastically rip off any coat i may be wearing.
this winter i've thoroughly enjoyed mixing luxury pieces with more down-to-earth basics. i've also been all about menswear (no surprise there). going from work to events/dinners, i've had to be very conscious on how my wardrobe can transition from day to night. this outfit is one that fits both specs.

so ideal

it dawned on me the other day that although i can practically say i live in these pants, i never once have shot in them for the blog. voila! here they are. i found them in the deep trenches of primark when i was in london this summer and have been ever so obsessed with them ever since. paired with another fabulous london brand, my paul's boutique bag has been a savior ever since i got it. these two paired together are so ideal.

wednesday night, america's next top model had their screening at the supper club right in the heart of hollywood. can i just say how heart-wrenchingly nervous i was to walk the red carpet?!
i'm very much looking forward to watching this season as the winner will be given a contract to (drum roll please)...
next models! and although i have absolutely no idea who win, y'all know i'm going to be routing for the boys!

as far as my outfit, i was all about keeping it simple and effective. didn't even wear any jewelry...

better in pleather

i peaked my head into a forever 21 store while walking through the grove shopping centre on a search for a cheap leather jacket (an anomaly in itself). what i surprisingly found instead was a $25 pleather jacket that has been dutifully serving its purpose since the purchase. and now my friends, i can show you that pleather ain't that bad. taking it a step further, i paired the ensemble with a pleather skirt from urban outfitters.

vintage speaks

everytime i go back home to miami i love raiding my mother's closet in search of hidden gems. this skirt is a wonderful example of the treasures i find buried deep within the mystical realm known as my mom's wardrobe.
by mixing vintage pieces with modern ones, i can create a unique look that has meaning.

what i wore: vintage skirt, silence & noise top (via urban outfitters), forever 21 necklace, christian louboutin heels

reception

this past weekend i attended one of the most fun and heart-warming weddings ever. my dear friends, dantonio and aimee, finally tied the knot and half the world (literally) was there to share in the celebration and give their good wishes.

one of my closest friends, alyssa, who works for marc jacobs was darling enough to lend me two of her dresses. a huge thank you to her for shipping them over and allowing me to feel like a princess for the festivities.

another one of my dear friends, leslie alejandro, did my make-up (along with my mom and sister) and my oh my did she do a stellar job! a huge thank you to her for her laughter and perfection and expertise. check her out: www.lesliealejandro.com
